OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

A single phone call changed the trajectory of Emily’s Place out of the gates. As soon as Theresa Denham, the founder of LBC Technologies, heard about Emily’s Place, she volunteered to join the board and help incubate it as a nonprofit organization. 

Theresa is also the founder of the Oregon Lyme Disease Network. Not long after starting this nonprofit, she almost quit due to the heartbreaking number of women who committed suicide before she could find them help. It came as no surprise when she learned that the first guest of Emily's Place, Robin Adams-Hayes, PhD, had already planned to do the same. 

**THERESA'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS**

**2016 UNITED NATIONS**

Theresa testified before the United Nations about Patient Access to Care and the Human Rights Committee for Violations of caregivers of chronically ill patients, including doctors, parents, and caregivers. She collaborated closely with a Senior Advisor to the United States Government who works on international human rights with the UN and WHO. Theresa received commendation from the Oregon Senate Health Committee Chair after negotiating changes in Oregon's policies and has worked with national teams to promote better access to care policies.

LBC Technologies aids technology startups by providing business plans, hiring assistance, program management, and corporate networking. Its principals bring over 30 years of experience in building businesses from the ground up, including nonprofits—something Theresa is eager to do for Emily’s Place! 

**THERESA'S PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH LYME DISEASE**

Theresa, a former veterinarian and microbiologist, was diagnosed with MS at age 28 and later re-diagnosed at 41 with Lyme disease and a common co-infection, Bartonella. Treating her Lyme disease and Bartonella resolved her MS-like symptoms, and since then, Theresa has guided over 2000 patients on their paths to healing.
